| About Buckeye Arizona Buckeye, named for the home state of one of the early settlers, is proud to be one of the most rural communities in the Metro Phoenix area. The first settlers came to Arizona en route Ohio, hence being named after the state they arrived from. Buckeye is considered a main street community. The central business district in Buckeye benefits greatly from this. As a main street community, Buckeye provides assistance to businesses that settle in the area. Buckeye is surrounded by exceptional parks that allow residents to enjoy many outdoor activities.
